Adventures of Living in a Tent: The Flood

When we first started living in a tent it was kind of fun. We pretended we were on holiday, but after a month, it was getting old. Especially when you have to keep buying new equipment because it wasn't meant to be used for months at a time.

About three months ago, we updated to sleeping pods that attach to the marquee instead of a normal tent. We wanted something that would be attached to the marquee so that we would have seamless rooms in case of bad weather.

The flooring in the "bedrooms" is raised so that water can't leak into the tents during rain storms, but we don't have a floor in the marquee. Normally, when it rains, it's not that big a deal. We stay dry, but we had one storm recently where the rain came down so hard the water had nowhere to go and it decided to pool in our marquee:

It got worse before it got better, but thankfully we managed to get everything off the ground that couldn't get wet before it got too bad.

In some ways, it was kind of nice, though. We spent the day curled up in our warm dry beds watching movies and playing games. 😁
